For Raja, the benefits of yoga have impacted every part of her life.
“I don’t know if I’m totally yogic, meaning I pull from a lot of different things - whether it’s the sutras or Buddhism - but whatever we’re pulling from, the spiritual practice is the biggest game,” she says. “Yoga has allowed me to be a healthier, kinder, more peaceful being. So when we’re doing a practice that’s trying to cultivate peace, I’m able to come more from that place.”
Practicing for almost the last twenty years, Raja has seen changes well beyond the physical. “I don’t think the same way, I don’t move through life in the same way. My mental health has increased throughout every year because of this practice,” she says.
But not everything is different. “I’m still loud and kind of obnoxious,” she jokes.
