1. Why do you practice yoga?
Yoga reminds me to breathe. It represents a sense of guidance, peace, connection, and community.
2. What's your favorite pose and why?
Definitely not pigeon.
3. What's your favorite thing about practicing at SoulPlay?
There are lots of things I love about practicing at SoulPlay - the positive energy, the welcoming vibe, the variety of classes, and most of all the people. I've made so many great friends here!
4. What’s been your biggest takeaway from yoga?
I went through two spine surgeries this past year, a month apart from each other; the first was planned, the second rather unexpected. The recovery process was both physically and mentally one of the most challenging experiences of my life. I often felt frustrated, resentful, lonely, and lost. During this time, yoga offered me direction and a sense of redemption. I found myself building strength (albeit slowly), being gentle and patient with myself, feeling progress with small accomplishments on my mat, and focusing on gratitude. Waking up everyday with our health is an incredible gift; I reflect on this often as I practice.
5. If you could be a jellybean flavor, which one & why?
Crunchy peanut butter! I eat it straight out of the jar. If it’s not a jelly bean flavor yet it needs to be!
