1. Why do you practice yoga?
I practice yoga to center myself. It reminds me to focus on one thing at a time and to take the next 60-75 minutes to practice being present. Yoga allows me to slow down and not get overwhelmed by day-to-day things.
2. What's your favorite pose and why?
Childs pose, because I know I can always come back to it if I need to pause for any reason.
3. What's your favorite thing about practicing at SoulPlay?
I love when Nat and Kate's classes build up to a new pose I've never learned! Generally speaking, yoga classes sometimes become repetitive, but I love how SoulPlay’s classes are constantly changing and offering opportunities to learn new poses or look at poses with a new perspective.
4. What’s been your biggest “aha moment” in yoga?
In one of Kate's classes, she said to focus on this breath and this move (aren't teachers always saying this?!), but for some reason it really stuck. If I feel overwhelmed in day-to-day life I remind myself to focus on the present moment and take it one breath at a time.
5. What 3 words describe you?
Blunt, decisive, observant.
